Parents Teachers and Friends Association
The Parents, Teachers and Friends Association’s (PTFA) role is to encourage closer links between home, school and the local community. The PTFA aims to enrich the social aspects of belonging to the School and to raise funds for the School and local charities. Annual events provide an opportunity to achieve both these aims.
The PTFA organises both the Christmas and Summer Fairs and the equally popular discos, ice-cream sales and playground tea parties. They also arrange evening social events for parents such as the annual Quiz Night and work with a team of volunteers to organise second hand uniform sales each term which are very well attended.
Over the years, fundraising efforts have raised money for many different projects. These include two fantastic adventure playgrounds, musical instruments for the Strings and Wind and Brass programmes and most recently the development of the School’s Garden of Imagination which is used for Forest School activities.
There are many different ways in which parents and friends can help with the PTFA whether serving on the Committee or helping on an ad hoc basis by, for example, running a stall at the Summer Fair or baking for a cake sale. Parents and friends can always support the PTFA simply by turning up at events!
If you are interested in helping the PTFA in any way, please contact the Chair, Alyson Longley.
