The School is committed to widening public access and recognises that bursaries are a way of ensuring that children from low income families can benefit from the education offered by Blackheath Prep. Bursary awards are currently available to all children who meet the entry requirements to the Prep (Year 3 upwards) and are means tested.
To apply for a bursary parents will be asked to complete a confidential statement of their financial circumstances. In assessing means the School considers a number of factors including family income, value of assets, investments and savings and family circumstances.
If an award is offered, this will be subject to annual review. Awards are made based on the availability of funding and at the discretion of the Board of Governors.
While each application is considered on its merits, as a guideline, families whose gross income exceeds £50,000 are unlikely to be considered eligible for a bursary.
