ISFA Girls’ Football National Finals Day
The Girls Football Club’s amazing year culminated with a trip to St George’s Park (home of England Football) for the ISFA Girls' Football National Finals on Tuesday 26th June.
Blackheath Prep had five matches to play in the group stage and once again they did not concede a single goal throughout the tournament, an outstanding achievement!
At the end of the group stage Blackheath Prep finished on 7 points which had them tied level in second place. Unfortunately after some calculations were made the girls agonisingly missed out on a spot in the semi-finals by one goal.
The majority of the team have only played football for a year and to finish 5th in the country is an incredible achievement. The girls enthusiasm has never waned. Even when training in the snow or pouring rain; they always asked for more training sessions. Their wonderful results are purely a result of the teams' hard work, drive and determination. I am very proud of them all.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents who have supported the girls throughout the year, it has meant so much to them.
Good luck to the Year 6's who are leaving us and I hope you continue playing football in your new senior schools. Girls Football Club will return in the Autumn Term.
