In the Nursery the children have been learning about the Hindu festival of Diwali, the festival of lights
It is a very exciting and colourful celebration and the children listened with great interest to the story of Rama and Sita which was beautifully retold by Naveen’s mummy in Nursery 2. The children began to understand the significance of lights and were keen to make and decorate a clay diva. They also created their own Mendhi patterns, with many demonstrating a wonderful developing sense of design. As fireworks are part of Diwali celebrations and most of the children had very recently experienced a firework display, great fun was had flicking paint to create a colourful, explosive effect. In Dance the children loved expressing themselves to Indian music, making animal and flower shapes with their hands.
