This week the children have been exploring a range of technology and technological toys.
Using an iPad, each child played a maths game designed to improve skills related to shape and space, sequencing and recognising differences. They had great fun learning how to control the programmable Bee-bots by using the directional arrow keys. These toys encourage the children to develop their spatial awareness and directional language as well as learning basic coding skills. The highlight of the week was undoubtedly the introduction of the new Osmo Monster game, in which the lovable monster on the screen asks the children to draw pictures, which are then pulled into the screen to enhance the story, adventure or to provide decorative features to the monster’s home. It has been a real pleasure to see the children’s reactions to seeing their artwork appear onscreen as part of the game.
