5-A-Side Football Competition
The 5-a-side football competition for Years 3 and 4 began in October and has seen nineteen fixtures take place at break times, before the final at lunchtime on Friday 14th February.
This tournament was started not only to give the lower Prep children something to compete for but also a chance to participate as a team with other children who they may not ordinarily work with.
We explained to the children that all teams had to compete to the best of their ability within the spirit of the competition.
We have been absolutely delighted to see the children take up this challenge. They have always remembered to bring the correct kit to school and were out and ready to play on time, at the start of break.
The sportsmanship has been brilliant with teams congratulating each other, even if they had just been knocked out of the competition.
The teams have received some fantastic support from non-players and some of the teachers, encouraging them in their games.
After the group and knockout stages, it was down to the final between Mighty Ducks and Muffin. Both teams were cheered on by the school and it was Muffin who came out on top 6-1 to become this season’s champions!
The PE staff would like to congratulate each and every player who participated and helped to make the competition the resounding success it has been.
