Girls Football Club Round-Up
2020 has definitely seen a successful start for Girls Football Club.
The first match of the new year was against St Aubyn’s School in Essex (last year’s national runners-up) which proved to be a high quality contest. All the girls played outstanding football and came away with a 4-1 win showing how hard they are working.
The Alleyn’s tournament followed on 29th January and with ten teams competing Blackheath Prep girls once again showed their quality to remain unbeaten throughout the tournament before beating Dulwich Hamlet 3-1 in the final.
Blackheath then hosted its own tournament on 7th February with six schools competing in a highly competitive afternoon of football.
Our girls got through a very close semi-final against Farrington’s 2-1 before beating two time national champions Royal Russell 3-0 in the final.
The girls have had to train and play in some extraordinary weather conditions over the past few months but have not complained once and the results are there for all to see.
What an amazing achievement!
