Girls PE Round-Up
Here is a round-up for Autumn Term 2.
Our year 6 girls have had a very busy half term. On the Netball Court this half term defeats to Merton Court and St Aubyn's were balanced out by our A and B2 team beating Alleyn's 9-4 and 4-2 respectively. We then hosted 9 other teams at the annual B team tournament where our girls were placed 3rd and 6th overall and Maria Shenton was voted player of the tournament for BPS. The girls were also fortunate to have a friendly hockey fixture at Blackheath High School where we were victorious in 2 out of the 3 games that we played. The girls have been a pleasure to coach this term as they have worked exceptionally hard and have given 100% at all times – well done on a great term girls!
The Year 5 teams have made great strides this half term. After a few initial hiccoughs before the break they have shown a strong return on the Netball court, beating Alleyn’s – the A team winning 8-0, the B1 team winning 2-1 and the B2 team winning their match 3-0. The girls also played host to Dulwich Hamlet on the Football pitch where the red team were 3-1 victors, the blue team won 1-0 and the green team drew their match 2-2. The girls have shown consistent improvement across the term and we are very proud of the effort that they have put in – well done girls!
Our Year 4 girls literally kicked off their half term on the Football pitch against Dulwich Hamlet. The red and blue teams put in a strong performance and won their matches 1-0 and 2-0 respectively. The green team showed a spirited display but unfortunately were beaten 0-1 on the day. The girls then unfortunately saw their Netball matches adversely affected by the weather which resulted in a bit of a disappointing end to the term. However, the girls have shown a great work ethic this term which will no doubt stand them in good stead as they progress to next term. Well done girls!
After much training and preparation in the first half of term our Year 3 girls took on Babington House, The Belham Primary School and Blackheath High School this half term. The girls showed great potential on the court and remain undefeated for the term. They scored over 60 goals across their fixtures this term which is an unprecedented achievement! I am very proud of all of the effort you are putting into your Netball girls!
