We have been thinking about the changing seasons and have spent time describing some of the changes we have seen, such as the vibrant reds, oranges and browns of the leaves as they fall from the trees.
The children have all noticed the days growing colder and know that they need to wrap up warm before going outside. They are beginning to understand that some animals, such as hedgehogs, hibernate.
Great fun has been had exploring activities focusing on the different clothing that helps to keep us warm and dry, such as coats, hats, gloves, scarves and welly boots. They particularly enjoyed working on creating rainy day pictures and designing a jumper. Sitting around a fire pit and taking turns toasting marshmallows was certainly a highlight this week.
Leading up to Christmas we have also immersed ourselves in the well-loved tale of ‘Stickman’, which moves through the seasons and ends with a visit from Father Christmas. The excitement of the festive season is without a doubt in the air!
