Year 6 Forensic Science Workshop
To support the investigative work Year 6 are undertaking in Science, the children took part in a Forensic Science Workshop on Wednesday 9th May.
An immersive environment was set up in the classroom, which consisted of four identical crime scenes. The children worked collaboratively to solve a crime and it was the responsibility of each group to piece together the evidence. The workshop included finding, developing and characterising fingerprints, investigating tool marks and other impressions, identifying hairs and fibres and investigating blood, bones and DNA. They used their scientific knowledge, understanding and logical thinking to solve given problems. The children really enjoyed this challenge and all were successful in solving the crime.
