On Thursday 21st June, we held a celebration concert in school showcasing the musical talent in the Preps.
The School Orchestra opened the concert with the magnificent 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky. This was followed by a wonderful performance from the Cantabile Choir singing 'A Million Dreams' and 'This is Me', a real hit with the audience.
The audience were then treated to music from the Recorder Ensemble and Wind Band, which proved their hard work had paid off with very polished performances.
The Chamber Choir then sang 'Mad About Mozart' and 'You Raise Me Up' with passion and conviction. Canteloupe Island, amongst other jazz standards, were performed by our Year 6 Jazz Club and thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Boys Aloud injected lots of humour with their medley of Joseph songs and with some very entertaining soloists, including Elvis Presley and was followed by the String Ensemble who then performed ‘When She Loved Me’ from Toy Story beautifully.
The evening concluded with all the instrumentalists, including our peripatetic teachers, delivering the Toy Symphony. A wonderful way to end a such an enjoyable evening. Well done to all the children who participated and performed to such a high standard.
