Reception Visit Shorne Wood Country Park
On Friday 15th June Reception visited Shorne Wood Country Park. The sun shone all day and the children had a wonderful time exploring and learning outside.
The children took part in three different workshops. First they enjoyed taking part in the workshop, ‘Hidden Habitats’ where they found lots of minibeasts in all sorts of interesting places, including many slimy slugs. After their minibeast adventure, they went onto express their creativity through the ‘Art Naturally’ workshop. As part of this workshop the children were able to hunt for natural materials and make their own book marks and natural clay faces. The children enjoyed finding contrasting materials, thinking carefully about the colours and textures to be found. Finally, after a lovely packed lunch in the picnic area, a huge highlight for everyone, we set off for our final workshop, ‘Den Building’. This involved working in teams to create their own dens. All the children contributed and had the opportunity to play inside their den alongside their peers, the last part of a wonderful visit.
