The Prep School (Year 3 – Year 6)
The Prep School is for pupils aged 7-11. The transition into the Prep School for pupils transferring from Year 2 to Year 3 is smooth and natural. In addition to our own Year 2 pupils, there are a few additional places available in Year 3 for external candidates.
The Prep building lies at the centre of the school containing classrooms and a purpose-built science laboratory. There is also an adjoining wildlife garden and pond.
There are two Prep forms per year group, each with a form teacher. Lessons are taught increasingly by specialist teachers, with form teachers assuming responsibility for the pastoral care of their pupils.
Children benefit from a broad curriculum whilst development of basic skills in core subjects continues. They achieve considerable success in senior school entrance procedures and also excel in music, drama, art and sport. Pupils leave the school well-prepared to meet the challenges of secondary education.
Prep pupils are encouraged to do their very best whilst learning to become responsible and caring members of the school community.
