Nursery and Reception (Early Years)

In the Early Years enjoyment and fun are key to successful learning and the Early Years curriculum has been developed with this as our focus.

We observe the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and enrich children's learning by planning meaningful, fun and relevant experiences according to the six areas of learning. We also ensure that children have a firm foundation in reading, writing and number. French, Music, P.E. Dance and Drama are taught by specialist teachers.

In the Early Years, the day is divided into periods of child-initiated structured play and adult-led activities.

Young children vary considerably in their stages of development and therefore, progress through the curriculum is tailored to meet individual children's needs.
